BobCAD-CAM V24 Build 376 Release Notes:

Release Date: September 12, 2011

The new BobART Pro adds enhanced capabilities to make designing artistic models easier and faster.

BobART Pro Features:

• 2-Rail Sweep Feature
  Create embossed models by sweeping one or more cross sections along two rails.
• Sculpting Feature
  Modify an embossed model in three different ways. You can deposit, remove, or smooth the material of the model using the mouse (brush).
• Smoothing Feature
  Smooth the material for an entire embossed model, without the need for a mouse (brush). You can smooth the whole model, or you can select geometry as a boundary to contain the smoothing to that area.
• Material/Texture Selection
  You can now add a material or texture appearance to an embossed model, which can be merged with a color. Bitmap images (.bmp) can be added to the BobCAD-CAM Data\BobCAD-CAM V24\Images folder for additional material textures.
• Load Vector Images
  Vector files can be opened from the BobART Manager tree item. This opens files using .ai, .eps, and .pdf file extensions.

Corrections:

General

• Tab order in Stock Edit dialog has been corrected

CAM

• Counter Bore diameter and depth options have been added to the geometry selection page, allowing the user to define these values before generating the machining features.
• Thread Type field was added to the geometry selection page for Tap features, allowing the user to define their tap sizes before generating the machining features.
• Slice Planar and Slice Radial Bottom of Job errors when using boundary geometry has been corrected.
• Lathe System Compensation has been corrected to give more accurate coordinate output when no gouges occur.
• Errors with Part in Part shapes being overlaid in nesting, in certain scenarios has been corrected.
• Slice Radial Cut Interval corrections have been made.

BobCAD-CAM V23 Build 1812 Release Notes:

This release offers several updates and fixes to the BobCAD-CAM V23 application. In addition to these updates, tabbing for profile cuts inside of the Nesting Feature can now be applied.

General

• Tabbing page added to the Nesting Wizard and Nesting Edit dialog box.
• Corrections have been made to prevent system from not opening due to corrupted tool database files.
• Corrected the system not launching if Disable Visual Themes flag is set for the BobCAD23.exe on Windows XP systems.
• Corrected the application not gaining focus when opened.
• Corrected the black undo button on mouse over.
• Corrected crashing related to Catalyst 10 ATI drivers when modifying geometry.
• Corrected application hanging when opening files on Windows 7.
• Corrected the dockable windows not closing when using the toolbar right click menu.
• Corrected the highlight color being incorrect when reselecting geometry assigned to a machining feature.

Mill

• Corrected a lead in and out bug when using None for the offset type in the profile. Now the lead in/out will always lie to the left of the chain direction allowing for consistency.
• Corrected problem with the Active flag not updating for nesting sheets inside of the Nesting Wizard.
• Corrected the sheet sizes always being displayed in inches, even when in metric mode.
• Spindle speeds being overwritten

Lathe

• Software crashing when only a single entity was assigned to a roughing feature has been corrected.

BobCAM V2 Build 676 Release Notes:

Release Date: November 9, 2011

New Languages Available

The complete software and help system are now available in the Spanish and Portuguese languages.

General Fixes & Enhancements

• BobCAM CAM Tree is now available in the second instance of the SolidWorks FeatureManager using the split panel display.
• Arc fit algorithm was enhanced for better performance for use with 3 axis toolpaths.
• An instance of Through Holes not being detected has been corrected.
• Web Help search bar function has been corrected.
• Internal grooving insert geometry being displayed incorrectly has been resolved.
• Rapid plane being used as absolute value in the Facing cycle has been corrected to an incremental value.
• Crashing when editing a Machining Feature with the SolidWorks Measure tool active has been corrected.
• Posting API functions not properly working on x64 systems has been corrected.
• Helical arcs not being properly output in the threading cycle has been corrected.
• Tool label not being displayed inside of the simulation has been corrected.
