Milling Tools contains all of the settings relating to the tool library
and the general machine settings, including post processing. You should
take the time to review this before machining parts. Milling Tools at
the CAM Part level of the CAM tree defines
the machine settings and cutting conditions for milling in BobCAM.
To access these settings click the
next to
CAM Part to expand the tree, then right-click
Milling Tools. A shortcut menu appears
with the following items.
Compute All Toolpath - This item causes every feature that is already in the tree to recompute their toolpaths in the order that they are listed. Depending on the number, type, and complexity of those features, the recompute time may vary.
Post - After all toolpaths in the tree are computed, click this item to post process a completed NC program. All features in the tree located under Milling Stock are posted unless they are set to not post.
Post & Save As - This item operates the same as Post, but also opens the Save As dialog box which allows you to rename and choose where to save the finished NC program.
Verify Tool Assignment - This tool displays the Assigned Tools dialog box containing all of the tools used in the NC program. The tool numbers used inside BobCAM may not match the tools as they are listed on the machine, so this item is provided so that you can reassign those numbers to reflect what is actually used in your shop.
Tools - This item opens the BobCAM milling tool library for editing with the Milling Tool Menu dialog box.
Hole Sizes - This item opens the BobCAM Tap Hole Sizes dialog box to allow you to adjust the different tools to use.
Current Settings - This item opens the Milling Settings dialog box to edit and set the machine defaults for a number of settings.
Part - The Part list items apply only to the currently active part. These settings have no effect on other parts that are loaded into the system.
Cutting Conditions - This item displays the Cutting Conditions Program dialog box with the currently selected stock material listed. This dialog box allows you to set various parameters related to the stock material.
Tool Pattern - This item displays the Tool Pattern Program dialog box to allow you to re-order the basic operations used in each feature type.
Machining Order - Displays the Machining Order dialog box to allow you to set the feature machining priorities and the tool-use optimization.
Default - The Default list items do not apply to the current part, nor to any part that has already been created. The settings here are available to replace the current system defaults and apply to all parts created thereafter.
